About Clobex®

Effective Treatment Available in Spray, Shampoo or Lotion



Clobex® (clobetasol propionate) is a medicine called a topical corticosteroid, meaning it should only be used on the skin. It is used for short periods of time to reduce the itching, flaking, scaling, redness and inflammation of:
  • Skin conditions on the body and scalp such as psoriasis, eczema, dermatitis, and other skin problems that respond to corticosteroid treatment (lotion)
Clobex® comes in three formulations to give you convenient, effective skin treatment:
  • Spray: For powerful, easy-to-use treatment of moderate to severe plaque psoriasis Learn more>

  • Lotion: For relief of itching and inflammation related to corticosteroid responsive dermatoses (SRDs), such as eczema and dermatitis. Learn more>
Clobex® is a very strong topical corticosteroid. It is important that you use Clobex® only as directed by your doctor to avoid serious side effects.

Clobetasol propionate has been shown to suppress the HPA axis at the lowest doses tested. In controlled clinical trials, the following adverse reactions have been reported: burning, pruritus, dryness, pain, hyperpigmentation around resolving plaque, irritation and atrophy.

Clobex® (clobetasol propionate) Spray, 0.05% is not recommended for use on anyone younger than 18 years of age. Treatment should be limited to 4 consecutive weeks. The total dosage should not exceed 50 g (59 mL or 2 fl oz) per week. Patients should use Clobex® (clobetasol propionate) Spray, 0.05%, only for the minimum period necessary to achieve desired results. Clobex® (clobetasol propionate) Spray, 0.05% should not be used on the face, groin, or axillae.
