Caring for Your Skin

Your Clean Routine

Clean your face and body each morning and night by massaging Cetaphil® Gentle Skin Cleanser gently into skin. Avoid harsh rubbing since this will only irritate skin and won’t get it any cleaner. Rinse with lukewarm (not hot) water.

Gently pat your skin dry with a clean towel. While skin is still slightly damp, apply Cetaphil® Moisturizing Lotion or Cream. Applying moisturizers while the skin is damp helps trap moisture and keep your skin soft and smooth. Keep your skin hydrated all day by reapplying Cetaphil® Moisturizing Lotion or Cream as needed.

Healthy Skin Tips

Here are some additional tips to help you reduce your symptoms or psoriasis:

  • Keep your whole body healthy. A healthy diet is crucial to physical health and therefore healthy skin. Eat your fruits and veggies. Get enough sleep. Stop smoking. Use sunscreen every day. Drink plenty of water. Make exercise part of your daily routine.
  • Apply moisturizers during the day and heavier lotions or creams at night, especially during dry weather.
  • Avoid scratching and never pick at lesions.
  • Apply a cold compress to itchy areas.
  • Avoid hot water. Let only warm water touch your skin.
  • Pat skin dry rather than rub.
  • Avoid cologne, perfume, scented lotion, body sprays and bath products.
  • Warm oatmeal baths help relieve itchiness for some people.
  • Wear cotton clothing next to your skin.
  • Use a humidifier during dry weather.
